a new view of the world

Tonight we switched Adelynn's carseat to face forward! We have slacked
a little in doing so,but tonight seemed like the perfect night. I went and met my friend
Adrian and her daughter Carmenat TJMaxx, so Mike switched the carseat before I left.

Adelynn was so excited.

Once, we got out of the driveway, I turned to check on her and she had her finger
up her nose - she took it out as soon as I turned around. I do not think
she liked that I could now see what she was doing! LoL

Carmen is 5 months older than Adelynn, so I get a sneak peek at what I have
to look forward to. Carmen took some pajama pants off a hanger and put
them around her head and went up and down the aisles - Adelynn looked
at her like she was crazy! I can't wait for our next outing together!

potty training

Sometime around the beginning of January, Adelynn became more aware of when she had gone to the bathroom. I would ask her if she peed/pooped and she would grab at the front/back of her diaper, depending on what she had done.

So, Mike and I decided to buy her a little toilet.....I had NO intention of her actually using it, I just wanted her to get a feel for it. She sat on it a few times with her clothes on - then after a couple days, I tried her on it with her clothes off. And, to my surprise, she pooped AND peed in the toilet!

I could not believe it - she is only 13 months old. I mean, Kaleb wasn't interested in potty training until he was 2 and it took a year for him to be fully potty trained. Adelynn has gone to the bathroom in her toilet twice since buying it. I am in NO hurry, but if she is ready - than so am I.

Here are a few pictures of her sitting on her toilet:

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

dinner

I didn't really have anything to write about tonight until dinner. Adelynn is almost 14 months old, so we have been trying to teach her how to feed herself with a spoon - which NEVER gets old. We had leftover chilli for dinner tonight, which was a great dinner to continue her learning.

Doing Good!

Proud

Hands work better!

It is so much fun watching children learn new things...hopefully she will soon be able to use a spoon with no trouble.
Here are a few more pictures from dinner. Enjoy!

Have a Great Monday Night!

B-I-N-G-O

Tara (sis-in-law) and I decided to start our monthly BINGO game again! We haven't played since October and thought it was time to start it up again.

*Me and Tara*

Mike has never played before, so we had his mom come over and watch the kids! I am sure that there are several other things that we could've chosen to do while we had no kids, but we chose BINGO.

BINGO is serious business and we wanted to win! However, Mike and I walked away losers at the end. Tara, on the other hand, walked away with a $200 win. This is the 2nd time she has won since I started playing with her - I have yet to win. Maybe next month? After 4 hours of BINGO, we played the slots for a little. I put in $5 and left with $33, so at least I won SOMETHING! : )

When Mike and I got back home, the kids had been fed, and Adelynn had a bath. Mike's mom had taken them to the park earlier in the day - so I am hoping that it wore them out and makes for an easy bedtime...we will see.

Happy Sunday night!

me and my family!

I have decided to start a blog. Actually, I have been saying that for the last 6 or so months, but am just now getting to it - I am HUGE procrastinator. My sister, Amber, blogs and has inspired me to give it a try - you can check out her blog here
Here is my family:
*Me, Adelynn, Mike (husband) and Kaleb*
As you can see, we have 2 kids - a 6yr old son and a 13 month old daughter. So, I should never run out of things to share. Oops, here are 2 other very important members of our family:
                                                                     *Kaya and Cinnamon*
We have 2 Chocolate Labs, who are almost as much work as kids! They are sisters and just turned 4 years old on December 24, 2010.

These are the people/dogs that you will read so much about!
Have a great weekend!
